These PDF updates will also allow owners of the previous Adobe Photoshop CS6 for Photographers book or later to keep up-to-date with most of the latest changes to the Photoshop program. Whether you are an accomplished user or just starting out, the Adobe Photoshop for Photographers book contains a wealth of practical advice, hints and tips to help you achieve professional-looking results.

This latest edition provides detailed information on all the new features in Photoshop that will be of interest to photographers. Adobe Photoshop for Photographers begins with an overview of the Photoshop interface and the fundamentals of how to use Photoshop, followed by the essentials of Camera Raw image editing. The Sharpening chapter shows how to use the Camera Raw controls to obtain optimum capture sharpening and noise reduction, and the Essentials chapter outlines how to work with all the basic image adjustment tools that are in the program.

Practical workshops show you how to master the essential techniques, such as color correction, retouching techniques, toning a black and white image, creating composite images and so on. Each technique is described in step-by-step detail, showing exactly which command to use, whether you are working with a Mac or PC computer.

The accompanying Website contains a Photoshop for Photographers Help Guide, which features a complete guide to all the tools and panels in Photoshop as well as other items in the program.

It is like having an extra on-line manual with which to learn more about what each Photoshop tool and panel does. The guide also provides over three hours of movie tutorials on Photoshop techniques. If you are just beginning to work with digital images or are looking for new ideas, the best techniques and ways to improve the quality of your work, this is the book for you. While the main Photoshop for Photographers book covers all the essentials of image editing in Photoshop, this title is intended as a companion book.

It goes into greater detail and supplements your knowledge of Photoshop, offering expert guid ance that's aimed at intermediate to advanced users of Photoshop. In this second edition, Martin Evening and Jeff Schewe each describe in detail how to carry out some of their favorite Photoshop image editing and retouching techniques. What about Moroccan cuisine?

What about ALL world cuisine? Still No? What about a very good accountant of the restaurant? Can he? It's possible and it's actually done in this book. Some of them the same everywhere: a knife is knife; a fork is fork. Found on the Internet. This book is lacking a very important ingredient: substance. I am so sorry for the trees that had to give its flesh so this book could be printed. The book creates a strong illusion that it's about everything there is to know.

Unfortunately, this 5lb book is about about nothing. Don't buy the Adobe books if you're a photographer. This is the one you need. Thorough and knowledgable, the topics are covered in the order of use. The camera raw chapter could be a book in itself for lightroom developing. None of the things a graphic artist would care about are covered. This is a book by a master photographer for photographers. The contents is great as far as I got as you would expect; however, the printing not so much.

My purchase was missing about 30 pages form the end of the book which included the index. Specifically, the last page in my book was The contents stated the index was on page but my book had no page This rendered it not useful at all as a reference book.

Instructions in the first few pages indicated contacting the publisher with any problems. I did this and waited 2 weeks to get a response to contact the seller. The return is in process and going smoothly so far but delayed by 2 weeks. Once replaced, I expect the book to be the comprehensive and detailed reference expected based on what I had seen while I had it.

One person found this helpful. Essential knowledge. Don't assume you can learn Photoshop by YouTube tutorials, go get this book. It provides basic and advanced information for any serious photographer. Moreno Tagliapietra Top Contributor: Photography. As to be expected from previous editions, this is my go-to source for anything technical about Photoshop.

A must-have for anyone using the program at any level of depth. Fairly good reading for intermediate people who have some knowledge of Photoshop.

See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. I have an awkward relationship with Martin Evening's books. Everything you possibly want to know is contained between the covers.

However, the same could be said of the alphabet. What his books lack is writing cohesion or tone that would make getting through them an informative and dynamic experience. Eventually it's mentioned without meaningful context, but by that time you've forgotten where you'd utilise them. I was also keen to understand the new Select Mask functionality so looked it up in the index. It's there, but only partially, and having read the section I wasn't really much better informed.

Too heavy on the icons for which keys to press, and too light on what should be the purpose of the book: to assist photograhers in PS. The opposite approach you'll find with Scott Kelby of course.
